Beginners Class — 60 Minutes
Turn It Up
Straight into the soundtrack with bounces, shoulder pops and travelling steps — heart rate up and self-consciousness left at the door within a song.
Hands, Faces, Feet
Bollywood's storytelling kit — expressive hand shapes borrowed from classical dance, the eyelines that sell them, and the footwork underneath — drilled in sections.
Building the Song
The week's routine assembled eight counts at a time from a genuine chart hit, taught to your face and your feet in equal measure.
Full-Throttle Bhangra
A burst of Punjabi folk energy — shoulder work, bounce and kicks — because no Bollywood hour should finish with anyone's breath to spare.
Roll Camera
The whole routine to loud music, filmed on a phone if you fancy the memento, then a stretch while the playlist cools everyone down.
About Bollywood Classes in Liverpool
Bollywood dance grabs everything at once — classical Indian hand gestures, bhangra bounce, a dash of hip-hop and Latin, all with the brightness turned right up. Our Bollywood dance classes in Liverpool teach proper film-style routines set to the songs topping the Indian charts, expressions and drama included. The fitness sneaks up on you; the joy is the whole point.
Liverpool takes to it happily. This is a young, multicultural student city with a real appetite for a dance floor, and Bollywood turns up everywhere from university society nights to the sangeet before a wedding. None of this happens in a vacuum — there is a genuine local life for these songs once class has hooked you.
Classes run at partner studios in the city centre and the Baltic Triangle, exact address confirmed when you book and a short walk from Lime Street. Some dancers come preparing a sangeet or wedding performance and just as many come purely for the cardio and the songs — and the Merseyrail loop means nobody has to wrestle a city-centre car park first.

Why Choose Bollywood in Liverpool?
Routines From Actual Hits
Every routine is set to a real track — a current chart smash or a wedding-floor classic everyone already knows — with no vague, Bollywood-flavoured filler in sight.
The Happiest Hour Going
Bollywood is built for delight: outsized moves, faces cranked to maximum and a soundtrack that simply will not do subdued. People leave this one noisy.
Cardio in Disguise
Dance one number at full performance pitch and you have done real cardio — you feel it land about halfway through, and no fitness tracker will disagree.
Sangeet and Wedding Ready
Getting a routine ready for a wedding or sangeet? Give us the track and your date, and a mix of group and private sessions will drill your party sharp.
Your Bollywood Journey
From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.
In at the Deep End (Happily)
Getting Started
You start on a real routine from your very first session — pared back, loud and complete within a month or so. This style does not ease you in gently; it just presses play.
What to Wear
Joggers or leggings, a top you do not mind soaking and clean trainers. Pack a full water bottle; it will come back empty.
Faces Join In
Expression
The hand shapes and eye-work move from awkward to indispensable, which in this style is precisely what they are.
Stamina
Running a whole track no longer flattens you, and that once-brutal second chorus loses its bite.
Widening Out
Style Mixing
Delicate classical shapes one term, thumping bhangra the next, cinema-romance after that — you accumulate a genuinely broad movement vocabulary.
Faster Pickup
Fresh choreography sinks in faster, and a block of eight counts reads like a phrase you take in at once.
Camera-Ready
Advanced Practice
Longer numbers, formation work and sharper detail — the line between dancing along and genuinely performing.
What Comes Next
A show-stealing sangeet number, a student-society showcase, or just a weekly hour you would defend to the death.
Bollywood in Liverpool FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first class.
Where in Liverpool are the Bollywood classes held? +
At partner studios in the city centre and the Baltic Triangle, with the exact venue confirmed at booking. Both are minutes from Lime Street and the Merseyrail loop, so the whole city region can get to class without driving in.
How much is a Bollywood class in Liverpool? +
£8 to drop in, printed here rather than hidden behind an enquiry — pay per class, no membership, no strings. Block-booking discounts follow once your studio's regular slot is confirmed.
I genuinely have no dance ability — can I manage a Bollywood class? +
You will more than manage. We build routines in short, repeated blocks, the atmosphere is cheerfully daft, and keenness covers any fumbled step. In a beginner class, most people are learning their first-ever routine right alongside you.
What should I wear? +
Comfortable activewear and supportive trainers — this class genuinely moves. A dupatta or a few jingly bits are fun if you fancy them, but the only rule that matters is clothing you can work up a sweat in.
Do I need to know Hindi or the films? +
Not in the slightest. Your teacher explains what each song is about so the expressions make sense, and the choreography carries the story regardless. Plenty of dancers meet the films through the class, not the other way round.
Is Bollywood the same as bhangra? +
They are cousins, not twins. Bhangra is Punjabi folk dance with a bouncing, shoulder-driven signature and the dhol at its heart; Bollywood is screen choreography that magpies from every style going, bhangra among them. We dip into that bhangra energy regularly, so both flavours show up.
Can you teach a routine for a sangeet or wedding? +
Happily — these are some of the jobs we enjoy most. Pop the track and the date on the enquiry form and we will map out group or private sessions to have your group ready for the day itself.
What music will we dance to? +
Film hits spanning the decades, from golden-age classics to the current charts — the big playback numbers, essentially. Each new routine brings a new song, and we are always glad of a request.
Do you run Bollywood classes for children in Liverpool? +
Yes — beside the adult classes there are age-banded children's and teen groups led by DBS-checked teachers, and Bollywood makes a superb first dance style: tuneful, lively and no place to stay bashful. Just pop your child's age on the form.
