Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

0–10 mins

Warm-Up & Alignment

Loosening the joints and finding the square, front-on posture idol dance depends on, plus a light cardio lift to get match-fit for the beat.

10–25 mins

Section One, Slowed Down

Breaking the first chunk of a real routine into small pieces at half speed, drilling the exact angles that make it read as K-pop.

25–40 mins

Formations & Facings

Where you stand and which way you face — the snap between shapes that turns a group of dancers into one clean design.

40–50 mins

Up to Tempo

Running the section at full speed to the actual track, tightening the hits until the whole line moves as one.

50–60 mins

Full Run & Optional Film

A couple of complete takes, with a filmed run at the end for anyone who wants the clip — never compulsory.

About K-Pop Classes in Northampton

K-pop choreography is pop tuned to the millimetre — moves that snap onto the beat, formations that lock tight then break apart, a line of dancers reading as one mirrored shape. That precision is why it rewards being taught slowly and in sections, rather than freeze-framed off a video and guessed at. We pull real routines apart and rebuild them piece by piece.

Search Northampton for a weekly K-pop session and you come up short — the fandom energy is here, but a public class that meets every week has not been. Ours is built to be exactly that: a fixed slot in our own room with our own teacher, open to the public, no society to join and no age cut-off. What you see billed is what actually runs.

No dance experience is needed; the class is designed around total beginners. There is no Korean to learn, because the counts are called as plain numbers. Once the routine sits cleanly at a walking pace, speeding it up becomes the fun part rather than the scary one. A drop-in is £8, teens and children dance in supervised brackets, and the studio is near the town centre.

Why Choose K-Pop in Northampton?

Real Idol Routines

We teach the actual choreography from current and classic releases, not a generic pop workout dressed up as K-pop.

A Class That Actually Runs

A fixed weekly slot in our own room — not a one-off tribute night — so your progress compounds week on week.

No Korean Needed

Every count is called in plain English; the only language you really need is the beat.

Film It If You Want

Most sessions end with an optional filmed take, so you leave with a clip — but the camera is never forced on anyone.

Your K-Pop Journey

Up to Tempo

Pieces learned slowly now run at full speed, and the hits start landing on the beat rather than just after it.

Dancing your own spot within a group, holding your facing while the shape around you shifts.

Month 4–6

Full Songs

Whole Routines

Stringing sections into a complete track, the way a performance actually runs start to finish.

Detail

Fingertips, chin, eyeline — the small finishing touches that separate copied from performed.

Filmed dance covers, showcases and group performances when you are ready to share them.

K-Pop in Northampton FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Is there a regular K-pop class in Northampton I can just turn up to? +

There wasn't a weekly public one, which is why we built this. It runs on a fixed slot in our own studio, led by our own teacher, open to the public and to every age — no fan-club membership required.

Do I need any dance experience? +

None. The class is designed around complete beginners, breaking each routine into small pieces at half speed before anything speeds up. If you can copy a shape, you can do this.

Do I need to understand Korean? +

Not a word. Every count is called in plain English, and the choreography does the talking. The language you actually need is rhythm, and we build that from scratch.

Which groups and songs will we learn? +

A rotation of current hits and classic releases, chosen partly by what the room wants. Routines are picked to suit the level in front of us, so beginners are never thrown in at the deep end.

How much is a K-pop class in Northampton? +

Eight pounds per drop-in, settled on the day, with no membership. Discounted blocks appear once your nearest class is on a steady weekly schedule.

Where in Northampton do the classes run? +

From our studio near the town centre, a short walk from Market Square and the North Gate bus station. The precise venue is confirmed once you book.

Will the class be filmed? +

Optionally. Most sessions finish with a filmed take so you leave with a clip, but stepping out of frame is completely fine and nobody is pushed in front of the camera.

Is it a proper workout? +

Genuinely. Full-speed idol routines are cardio with sharp direction changes, so expect to warm up, sweat and cool down — the fitness is a bonus on top of the dance.

Is there an age limit? +

No upper limit; adults are welcome throughout, and under-eighteens dance in their own supervised age brackets. Pick your bracket on the enquiry form and we will place you.
