Dance Classes in Coventry

20 Styles of Dance Class in Coventry

Beginners Are the Majority Here

In most of our Coventry sessions the first-timers outnumber everyone else — nervous beginners are the norm here, not the odd one out, and each style opens on a level that expects nothing of you. Trained dancers step up into improver classes led by choreographers who still gig locally. Planning a hen do? It's the same crew, booked in one go.

Built Around a Coventry Week

Sessions run evening and weekend at partner studios in the city centre, over at FarGo Village and along Spon Street — a short walk from the rebuilt railway station or a central multi-storey just off the ring road, so a class after work is genuinely doable. Come along when it suits, or book a block and pay less. Getting married? Our wedding dance lessons use these same rooms.

Eight Pounds When You Block-Book

£8 a class, full stop — drop in once or book four weeks, the price doesn't move — no membership, no contract, none of that gym small-print. Have a go at one style this week, a completely different one next week. Keen to start? Drop us a line.

Stamping heels, splitting palmas and a proud, blazing carriage — Andalusian to the bone, precise on every count and nothing you can ever coast through.

Hip-Hop

Bounces, grooves and the social party dances at hip-hop's core — musicality is taught here rather than taken for granted, and the class stays deliberately separate from the street-dance umbrella next door.

Hip-Hop Classes
Irish Dancing dance classes in Coventry

Irish Dancing

Reels and jigs clattering out at pace while the arms stay clamped rigid at your sides — no Irish blood needed, just the Coventry nerve to launch into it on a Friday night; brutal on the calves and far funnier than it looks.

Irish Dancing Classes
Jazz dance classes in Coventry

Jazz

Kicks, pirouettes and those clean Broadway lines — the bedrock every professional dancer is built on, and the engine under every touring show that rolls into the Belgrade.

Jazz Classes
K-Pop dance classes in Coventry

Cuban rhythm, easy turns and partners who rotate so nobody's ever left out — the simplest way into Coventry's warm, busy Latin scene.

Locking, popping, breaking and house pulled together into one umbrella class — led by working street dancers from the city that invented 2 Tone and ska.

Shuffles, flaps and time steps until your feet are the whole rhythm section — a percussion instrument you happen to wear, with loan shoes on hand so you're not buying before you're sure.

Where We Teach in Coventry

City-Centre & Quarter Studios

Broadgate, Cathedral Quarter, FarGo Village & Spon Street

Grown-up classes take place at partner studios around Broadgate and the precincts, at FarGo Village on Far Gosford Street and down medieval Spon Street — nearly all within an easy walk of the rebuilt station or a central car park off the ring road, and the evening times suit anyone heading over after work. The precise venue is sorted out the moment you book a place.

Halls Closer to Home

Kids & teens, across Warwickshire

We look after children's classes closer to where families live, using local halls and studios that reach from the city centre out through Earlsdon, Cheylesmore, Tile Hill and Coundon and on to Nuneaton, Bedworth and across Warwickshire. Tell us your neighbourhood on the enquiry form and we'll match you to the nearest young dancers' group.

Dance Classes in Coventry FAQ

The things people ask before a first class in Coventry.

How much does a dance class in Coventry cost?

£8 a class, full stop — drop in once or book four weeks, the price doesn't move. You're not signing up to anything ongoing — no joining fee, no rolling contract, just pay for the weeks you come.

Whereabouts in Coventry are the classes held?

Partner studios sit right in the city centre around Broadgate and the precincts, over at FarGo Village on Far Gosford Street, and along medieval Spon Street — almost all a short walk from Coventry's rebuilt railway station, or a central multi-storey just off the ring road if you drive. Each style's own page has the finer detail.

Are the classes actually aimed at adults, or mainly children?

Completely — the bulk of our Coventry dancers are adults who signed up as total beginners, plenty of them well past forty and none of them sorry they did. Every style opens on a real starter level where the teacher builds from the ground up rather than assuming you already know the steps.

Do you teach children as well?

Yes — most styles carry children's classes too, split into age groups and led by DBS-checked teachers, with street dance and ballet the first to fill. Flag the area you're in on the enquiry form and we'll tell you where the nearest young dancers' class runs.

Do I need to bring a partner along?

Not remotely — ballroom, salsa, bachata and tango all rotate everyone round the floor, so turning up on your own is completely normal. Bring someone and stick together if you'd prefer, or swap through the class and end up dancing with half of Coventry.
