Hen Party Dance Class Sunderland
The Hen Do Sunderland Books Again and Again
Everyone in the Same Routine
The appeal is simple — the whole group picks up one routine side by side, which means no onlookers and nobody drifting off to the bar early. A professional choreographer runs the hour or ninety minutes, closing on a filmed take the bride will still be sending round the group chat months later. Wedding on the horizon? Our wedding dance lessons come from the same team.
Class First, Then Keel Square
Our studios sit right in the city centre by Keel Square, so the High Street West bars, a meal near the Empire and the rest of the night are minutes away once you finish — or the choreographer loads a speaker and drives out to your hotel, a seafront apartment at Roker or a hall you have booked anywhere on Wearside. Anyone who catches the bug can carry on at our weekly dance classes in Sunderland.
38+ Themes, a Single Bill
Decade, pop icon, stage musical or world style — we build the whole thing around what the bride genuinely loves. The group settles one flat £140 whatever the final headcount, so a friend joining late shrinks everyone's share rather than adding to it. And with the Metro and National Rail both feeding into Sunderland station, gathering a scattered crew is refreshingly easy. Lock in a date.
Build It Round Her Theme
More than 38 themes to choose from — settle on the one that is unmistakably her and we choreograph the rest. Every single one is made for total beginners.
80s
Neon leotards, fists punching the key change and choruses aimed at the back row — an aerobics-class throwback that leaves the whole group pink-cheeked and howling by the second verse.
80s Hen Party
90s
Half a boyband ballad, half a girl-group strut, with a thread of Britpop cheek running under it — the tunes your lot never really stopped singing, finally handed proper choreography.
90s Hen Party
2000s
Frosted gloss, low-slung denim and a run of noughties floor-fillers with R&B swing through the middle — plus a sly nod to the Wearside indie the Futureheads and Field Music were firing out back then.
2000s Hen Party
ABBA
Disco points to the ceiling, a teeter on the platform boots and a crack at harmonies well out of range — all to the Swedish songbook the entire room turns out to know off by heart.
ABBA Hen Party
Ariana Grande
A high swinging ponytail, neat little steps and that unbothered pop-star cool — awkward to drill up close, then oddly slick the moment someone films it back.
Ariana Grande Hen Party
Barbie
Head-to-toe pink, a frozen shop-window doll pose and a catwalk strut straight out of the packaging — silly, sugary and the perfect opener before a night out.
Barbie Hen Party
Belly Dance
Sling on a jingling coin belt, coax the hips into slow isolations and a sharp drop on cue, and let the veil add the flourish — flattering on anyone, and quietly punishing on the core.
Belly Dance Hen Party
Beyoncé
Put the bride at the point of a tight arrowhead, the crew locked in behind, and land that unmistakable hand-flick together — sharp, powerful and built for a head-on camera.
Beyoncé Hen Party
Bollywood
Big-screen Bollywood sparkle — shoulders bouncing, hands telling the story, a joyful group finish — with each phrase drilled gently enough that nobody who has never tried it falls behind.
Bollywood Hen Party
Britney
Those bedroom-mirror routines you have known for twenty years, done properly for once — schoolgirl bunches into sleek black, the sharp hair-flick, the lot — and suddenly it all lands.
Britney Hen Party
Burlesque
All tease and no exposure — a slinking walk, a rolled shoulder, a boa drawn slowly across. Everything stays firmly on; it is only the self-consciousness that gets left behind.
Burlesque Hen Party
Charleston
Swishing crossed hands, twisting knees and a shiver of beaded fringe, straight out of the jazz age when the shipyard money was flowing and the Sunderland Empire had just thrown open its doors in 1907.
Charleston Hen Party
Cheerleading
Crisp arm lines, a chant loud enough to carry across the stands and — nerve permitting — the bride hoisted overhead. Full red-and-white Stadium of Light energy, pom-poms out for the Black Cats.
Cheerleading Hen Party
Chicago
Long, slinking Fosse lines — hat brim low, fingers clicking, every move oozing smoky speakeasy attitude from the very first count.
Chicago Hen Party
Commercial
We grab whatever is topping the charts this week, lift the video's routine and buff it until it films sharp — the current, camera-ready style EL Dance and Dance JAM dancers trade in.
Commercial Hen Party
Dirty Dancing
A taste of hip-rolling mambo, a slow build, and — if the nerve holds and the spotters are set — the famous lift. Naturally, no one is putting this bride in any corner.
Dirty Dancing Hen Party
Disney
Those cartoon anthems you claim to be far too grown-up for now, wobbly big note and quiet sniffle included — perfect before the group wanders down to Roker and Seaburn for the evening.
Disney Hen Party
Fame
Headbands, high kicks and full-throttle stage-school dreams poured into that title song, until the bride is more or less top of the bill with her name in lights.
Fame Hen Party
Flamenco
Proud posture, arms curling to the ceiling and heels hammering the count into the floor — easily the boldest, noisiest routine here, and hugely satisfying the moment it locks in.
Flamenco Hen Party
Flash Dance
Off-the-shoulder sweatshirt, gritty floorwork and that head-flung chair pose to finish — a tip of the cap to Wearside's shipyards and the great launches down the river, and no, nobody gets soaked.
Flash Dance Hen Party
Greatest Showman
Big-top swagger for the arms-aloft anthems, finishing on a pose so wide it practically demands a cheer — the kind of number that sends everyone out ten feet tall.
Greatest Showman Hen Party
Grease
The hand-jive, a bit of T-Bird swagger and Pink Lady attitude, built so the room is roaring that drive-in duet at each other by the end — gloriously silly.
Grease Hen Party
High School Musical
Springy Wildcat routines and cafeteria-line formations, powered by a chorus that sticks after a single play — by the last eight counts even the hold-outs are singing.
High School Musical Hen Party
Irish Dancing
Racing reel-and-jig steps down low while everything from the waist up stays stone-still — deceptively simple on screen, and the laughing back row finds out otherwise almost at once.
Irish Dancing Hen Party
Line Dancing
Boots down, heels dug in, the whole room turning together to meet a fresh wall — partner-free, country to the bone, and forever creeping back into the charts.
Line Dancing Hen Party
Musicals
A gallop through the stage songbook in one session — belted numbers, kick lines, spirit fingers and a curtain-call bow — a fine warm-up for a night under the lights at the Sunderland Empire.
Musicals Hen Party
Pole Dancing
One wobbly first spin, a couple of ridiculous poses and no shortage of laughing — held strictly at a dedicated partner pole studio, and it wants nerve a lot more than strength.
Pole Dancing Hen Party
RuPaul
Work the runway, serve a flash of shade and mime every word like it is life or death — pure attitude is the point, and the death drop stays entirely optional.
RuPaul Hen Party
Salsa
Loosen the hips to a Cuban count, fold in a spin or two and rotate so everyone dances with everyone — a nod to the warm socials Salsa for Charity runs across the city.
Salsa Hen Party
Samba
That non-stop carnival bounce in the knees, feathers flying and a drum pattern you physically cannot sit still through — as bright as the seafront at Roker and Seaburn on a clear day.
Samba Hen Party
SIX the Musical
The six Tudor queens recast as a pop powerhouse — ruffs, mic-drops and attitude — and the bride handed a crown as the unofficial seventh to front the whole thing.
SIX the Musical Hen Party
Spice Girls
Each hen picks her Spice, straps on the platform boots and flashes a peace sign — the definitive girl-power anthem, taken completely over the top.
Spice Girls Hen Party
Street Dance
Loose grooves with real attitude, sharpened just enough that the group clip comes out looking properly shot — leaning on the scene Dance JAM and EL Dance keep running in the city.
Street Dance Hen Party
Strictly
Sequins, a hopeful coat of fake tan and a ballroom frame that actually stands up — every bit of the sparkle and sweep, taught the grounded, no-nonsense way, with no faraway ballroom palace required.
Strictly Hen Party
Taylor Swift
One routine that time-travels the eras — a stack of friendship bracelets, a defining step lifted from each album — perfect for the bride whose group knows the whole back catalogue.
Taylor Swift Hen Party
Texas Hold'em
Beyoncé saddles up — boots, wide brim and a rolling two-step with plenty of stomp and hat-tip — cowboy attitude wrapped in a chart-pop shine.
Texas Hold'em Hen Party
Thriller
Hands clawed, that stiff-legged zombie lurch and the shuffle half of you can already half-do — picture it with the shipyard cranes stark against the sky and Penshaw Monument black on its hill after dark.
Thriller Hen Party
Wicked
The full Elphaba moment — a wide arm thrown to the sky, a suspended hush, then that gravity-defying note lifting higher and higher. Theatrical, enormous, and guaranteed to raise the hairs on your arm.
Wicked Hen PartyOur Room or Yours
A studio of ours or a space of your own — either works a treat.
A Studio by Keel Square
Sunderland city centreA partner studio right in the middle of the city near Keel Square — a private room held just for you, a proper sprung floor, and the High Street West bars a minute out the door. We confirm the exact address when you book.
We Bring It to You
Sunderland, the coast & across WearsideA hotel function room, the lounge of a Roker seafront let, or a hall booked out somewhere across Wearside — the choreographer turns up with the music sorted and the routine ready. Easily the first choice when everyone is bedding down together.
The Cost, Straight
A single price for the whole party, never a charge per head — so no one is redoing the maths every time the guest list shifts.
One-Hour Party
A warm-up, the complete themed routine, and a filmed final run-through.
£140 + venueNinety-Minute Party
Extra minutes to sharpen the routine and pile on more of the song — best when the group is on the bigger side.
£165 + venueAdd Bubbly
A cold bottle standing by for the moment you all arrive.
+£10How It Works
- Pick a theme — 38+ on offer; let the bride's favourite decide, never the strongest dancer.
- Set the date — for a summer Saturday in Sunderland, book three to five months out.
- Ours or yours — a studio near Keel Square, or we travel to you anywhere on Wearside.
- Dance it, capture it — the final take is filmed as standard, and any encore is your shout.
One figure, whether a dozen of you show up or twice that — the more who come, the less it works out per head.
Hen Do Questions
The questions hen organisers put to us before booking in Sunderland.
How much is a hen party dance class in Sunderland?
It is one price for the whole party rather than a ticket each. An hour is £140 and ninety minutes £165, and you only add studio hire if you book one of our rooms. Since the fee never moves with numbers, a bigger group just means a smaller share apiece — six hens or thirty, the total is identical. A bottle of bubbly on arrival is a flat tenner extra.
Whereabouts in Sunderland does the class happen, and what is nearby after?
It is a private, city-centre room by Keel Square, barely two minutes from Sunderland station — so the High Street West bars and a table near the Empire are all on your doorstep afterwards. Prefer to stay put? The choreographer will bring it to a hotel, a Roker seafront let or any hall you have booked on Wearside, and the Metro links the coast straight into the centre.
Can you host us, or do you come to our place?
Whichever you prefer. Some parties book a city-centre studio and head out into the bars the moment they finish; others would rather keep everyone together, so the choreographer arrives at the hotel or the holiday let with the speaker and routine in hand. Give us the shape of your weekend and we plan to suit.
What if none of us can really dance?
Honestly, most of our groups arrive having never danced a step. Everything is taught in tiny, layered chunks aimed at complete beginners, so it never gets ahead of the room. Bring the enthusiasm and the filmed run-through almost always turns out better than anyone dared expect.
How much notice do you need for a Sunderland hen do?
Summer Saturdays are the busy slot, so aim to lock one in a good three to five months out. Off-peak weekends and weekday sessions can frequently be arranged with just a fortnight to spare — never assume it is too late to ask.
Could we use the routine at the wedding too?
Plenty do. Let us know at the booking stage and we will keep the steps robust enough to carry from the hen weekend all the way to your first dance — a fair few bookings, in fact, begin as a secret wedding surprise rather than a hen idea at all.
