Wedding Dance Lessons in Telford

First dance choreography made to order by Telford's professional wedding instructors — anything from a calm, sure-footed sway to a showpiece the whole room talks about for years, taught across Shropshire.

Your First Dance, Done Right

Choreography Shaped to Your Track

Hand us the track and the choreographer works outward from it — the tempo, the line the whole room waits for, the second every guest lifts a phone to film. A gentle waltz or something nobody in the room predicts: either way it is made once, for just the pair of you. Couples we coach marry all over the county, from the register office to a barn in the hills beyond Ironbridge.

Written for Total Beginners

Nearly everyone books without ever having had a single lesson, and that is precisely the point — movement that looks graceful from the guest tables yet comes apart into small, repeatable pieces anyone can hold onto. Already booked into dance classes in Telford? You will pick this up in half the time.

Lessons That Slot Into Your Week

Private slots at a Telford studio, arranged around shifts and the never-ending to-do list, evenings and weekends alike — or the choreographer drives out to you anywhere in Telford and the wider county. Sorting a hen party too? One team, one conversation, both jobs handled.

Choose Your Dance Style

The first-dance styles couples ask for most — your choreographer reshapes any of them around your track and what you can comfortably manage.

Traditional Waltz

The evergreen pick — poised, tender and equally at ease in an Ironbridge riverside hall or a field marquee.

Modern Romantic

Relaxed, close-held movement with none of the rigid ballroom lines — for couples wanting to still look like them, only a good deal smoother.

Latin Fusion

The heat of rumba and bachata with a hint of theatre — a closeness the guests clock from the furthest table back.

Swing & Jive

Quick, bright and thoroughly catching — the number that hauls the guests up out of their seats before the last chorus.

Dramatic Spotlight

Lifts, drops and set-piece moments for couples chasing an audible gasp — assembled safely and drilled until they run on their own.

Song Transitions

Ease in slow, then swerve into something nobody sees coming — a stitched-together medley with the loudest payoff for the least footwork.

From the Dance Floor

Telford and Shropshire couples on the dances they swore they could never do.

"Gethin's mum had her doubts we'd ever learn a routine, so we invited her to a lesson to watch. She left having booked her own. By the wedding she was our loudest cheerleader on the floor."
Heledd & Gethin Married in Wellington
"A fortnight out with a song we loved and no idea where to start, we feared the worst. One session gave us a routine that suited us perfectly and the confidence to practise at home. Never once felt rushed."
Sioned & Tomos Last-Minute Package
"The groom's my brother and I wanted three generations of us in the party dance. Teaching our grandad the steps over a fortnight was the highlight; watching him hold his own beside the youngest cousins on the night, even more so."
Meredith, best man Wedding Party Choreography

Wedding Dance FAQ

The questions couples raise most before they book wedding dance lessons in Telford — nerves, timing, song choice and where it all happens.

One of us honestly cannot dance — is this hopeless?

Honestly, that describes most people who walk through the door. The overwhelming majority start with no background whatsoever. The choreographer picks steps that flatter far more than they challenge, then drills them in tiny chunks until your body simply does them on its own — the jitters are part of the deal.

How many weeks before the wedding should we begin?

Eight to twelve weeks ahead sits in the sweet spot — one lesson a fortnight with a little practice in between. Cutting it fine? The two-hour Last Minute intensive has bailed out couples with barely a fortnight left, and it usually goes in during that very week.

Does our first dance track have to be a slow one?

Absolutely any track at all. Send it over and the routine grows out of its tempo and its key moments; anything overlong we trim to a cut you can perform. Not settled on one yet? The choreographer will hand you a shortlist to match the style you fancy.

Can you also choreograph a father-daughter or mother-son dance?

Of course — every dance on the day, not merely the couple's own. Parent dances, group numbers for the wedding party and secret surprises come through constantly, charged at the very same per-lesson rate, in our rooms or out at your venue.

What happens if one of us is quietly terrified?

So common it is basically expected. The sessions are one-to-one — no class, no onlookers — and the choreographer sets the whole pace by whoever is the more anxious of you. Come the second lesson, the terror has usually flipped into a bit of a show-off streak.

Whereabouts do the Telford lessons actually happen?

In private rooms close to Telford Central and Southwater, fitted around your diary — evenings and weekends both — or the choreographer comes to your home or venue right across the county. Loads of couples add a last run-through at the wedding venue itself.
