About This Belly Dance Hen Party Dance Class in Cheltenham

Belly dance is a brilliant leveller for a hen party — no partner needed, no set body type, just hips, a shimmy and a room full of women feeling gloriously confident. Cheltenham has a friendly community of belly-dance and world-dance regulars, so the shimmies and veil work land in a town that already enjoys them, and the elegant Regency setting of the Promenade and Montpellier makes the sparkle feel right at home.

Nobody travels to a class — the class travels to you. A professional belly-dance instructor arrives at your room, whether that is a Montpellier townhouse, a hotel suite near Imperial Square, or one of our city-centre studios just off the High Street. We start with the basics of posture and isolation, add hip drops, figure-eights and the shimmy, then a little veil flourish, all taught gently enough for someone who swore she could not move like that an hour earlier.

You pick the music, we choreograph a short routine to it, and the bride leaves walking with a bit more swagger. We keep the Cheltenham logistics in hand too — a warm room and space to swirl a veil, coin scarves if you want the jingle, and an early warning if your date clashes with race week or festival season, when hotels, taxis and parking around town all get squeezed.

Belly Dance Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Belly Dance hen party dance class in Cheltenham.

Do you have to be a certain shape or fitness level for belly dance? +

Not in the slightest — that is exactly why it works so well for a hen party. Belly dance suits every body and every age, and it is low-impact, so there is no jumping or partner work to worry about. We teach the isolations gently and everybody progresses at their own pace.

How much is a belly-dance hen party in Cheltenham? +

A flat £140 for one hour or £165 for ninety minutes, and it does not change with group size. The only optional add-on is chilled bubbly on arrival at a flat £10. Should your chosen venue charge its own hire fee, that would be paid to them separately.

Do we get veils and coin scarves, or bring our own? +

We bring coin scarves for the group to borrow so everyone gets that lovely jingle, and we include a simple veil flourish in the routine. You are very welcome to bring your own sparkly scarves too — many groups do, and they look wonderful in the photos against Cheltenham's Regency streets.

Where in Cheltenham does the class take place? +

Wherever works for your group. The instructor comes to you — a Montpellier townhouse, a hotel suite near Imperial Square or the Promenade, or one of our central studios near the High Street. If you have not booked a room yet, tell us your area and numbers and we will help you find a warm, private space.

Will race week or festival season affect our plans? +

Only the logistics around the day. When the Cheltenham Festival, the Gold Cup or one of the four festivals is running, hotels, taxis and car parks all get tight and pricey, so book early. The class itself runs whenever suits, and a daytime slot leaves your evening free for the town.

How do we get there and park? +

Cheltenham Spa station is west of the centre, so plan on a short taxi or bus into Montpellier or the Promenade. If you are driving, the central Regent Arcade multi-storey is handy, but check its closing time before a late one, since town-centre car parks lock up overnight.
