About This Charleston Hen Party Dance Class in Blackpool

The Charleston is the roaring twenties in dance form, and a Charleston dance hen party Blackpool session hands your group an hour of kicks, swivels, hand-crosses and that giddy jazz-age glamour. Blackpool wears the era beautifully — the town's ballrooms and variety stages were filling up with dancers in exactly the decade the Charleston swept in, the same 1920s that saw the world's first international ballroom festival arrive in the resort. That heritage is pure inspiration for us, nothing more.

We bring the class to your hotel, a hired room or wherever the party has gathered, from the Promenade across to the Fylde coast. Your instructor teaches the bounce, the twist-step and those flapper arms, then sets a bright, characterful routine you can imagine performing under a chandelier. It starts gentle and playful, then builds until the whole group is swivelling in time and laughing at how effortlessly vintage they suddenly look. No partners and no experience required.

A Charleston dance hen do Blackpool is priced flat and clearly: £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes for the whole group, never per head, so extra arrivals on the day change nothing. Chilled bubbly is an optional £10 for a toast. We are an independent instructor-led team with no affiliation to the Tower Ballroom, the Winter Gardens or any festival — we simply take our cue from the era, and teach a genuinely fun class.

What Our Hens Say

Charleston hen parties we have taught across Blackpool.

"The kicks and the flapper arms had us all in stitches and looking oddly glamorous at the same time. She got my auntie swivelling like it was 1925. The most fun I have had in fringe and a headband."

— Odette D. ★★★★★
C

"Came to our hotel for a full Gatsby afternoon and made sixteen of us look like a proper twenties chorus line. All the vintage charm with none of the pretence. The bride was absolutely in her element."

— Perdita B. ★★★★★

"One flat price and it did not budge when two more turned up in feathers. The routine was simple enough for everyone yet looked brilliant. Easily the classiest, silliest part of the whole weekend."

— Quenby B. ★★★★★

"We did the Charleston in the afternoon then went out still doing the twist-step in our heels. A hen do with real vintage character that actually teaches you something. Everyone went home raving about it."

— Rhian B. ★★★★★

Charleston Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Charleston hen party dance class in Blackpool.

Are you connected to the Tower Ballroom or the Blackpool Dance Festival? +

No, and we are careful to say so. We take pure inspiration from Blackpool's glorious 1920s dance heritage — the era the Charleston belongs to and the decade the resort's famous ballroom culture took off — but we hold no affiliation with the Tower Ballroom, the Winter Gardens, any festival or the BBC. Our class is an independent, instructor-led hen activity brought to your own space, not a ticket or access to any of those venues.

Do we need any experience to do the Charleston? +

None whatsoever. The routine is built from a few simple pieces — the bounce, the twist-step and the kicks — layered up slowly until the whole group has it. The playful, slightly wobbly character of the Charleston means it looks charming even when it is not perfect, which takes all the pressure off. Beginners genuinely thrive, and the twenties styling does a lot of the work for you.

Will you come to our Blackpool hotel? +

Yes — we bring the class to you. A hotel function room, a hired studio or any space with a bit of clear floor works, from North Shore down to South Shore. Send us the postcode when you enquire and we will confirm it suits. We are not tied to any single venue, so the session fits around wherever your weekend is based, near the town centre or further along the seafront.

What should we wear for a 1920s class? +

Comfortable clothes and flat shoes you can bounce and kick in. Lots of groups lean into it with fringed dresses, headbands and feathers for the photos, which looks fabulous, but that is all optional fun rather than required. If you are running a full Gatsby theme we can pitch the styling and the routine to match. We will confirm anything specific once we know your space.

What is the cost and does it change with numbers? +

It is a flat group rate — £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes, for the whole party rather than per person. Extra hens on the day make no difference to the total. The only optional add-on is chilled bubbly at £10 for a toast. You will get the full price confirmed in writing before you book, with nothing hidden or added later on.

How do we get around on the day? +

Blackpool is easy for it. The Promenade tramway runs the whole seafront, so getting between a North Shore hotel and the town-centre bars and theatres is a quick tram, and Blackpool North station brings visitors in close to the central hotels. We will fit the class around your itinerary, leaving the evening free for a show, a meal or a night out along the Golden Mile promenade.
