About This Wicked Hen Party Dance Class in Blackpool
Wicked has two sides and a hen group tends to love both — Elphaba's soaring, arms-raised Defying Gravity power and Glinda's flouncing, hair-toss Popular sass. Your choreographer builds a routine that swings between the two, so the group can be witchy and dramatic one moment and pink and preening the next, all set to the anthems everyone already knows. It is theatrical and satisfying to perform but forgiving to learn, with the biggest belt saved for whoever wants the spotlight and a soft landing for everyone else.
There is a fitting bit of emerald magic in staging it here. Every autumn the Blackpool Illuminations flood six miles of Promenade with colour, green among them, and the town's variety and pantomime tradition has been conjuring stage spectacle for well over a century — the perfect setting for a Wicked dance hen party Blackpool that ends in its own light-up finale. The show tours nationally and has played the town's theatres on the road; we borrow that drama for inspiration only, with no affiliation to any Blackpool venue or production.
We rehearse in a central studio near the Tower and Winter Gardens, an easy Promenade tram ride from the North Shore hotels, or the whole class packs down to a speaker and comes to you anywhere across Blackpool and the Fylde coast. Numbers never move the fee — £140 for the hour, £165 for ninety minutes, with room hire the only possible extra and an optional £10 bottle of fizz. A Wicked dance hen do Blackpool ends on the Defying Gravity moment, arms thrown skyward, the bride rising out of the centre while the group frames her for the photo.

What Our Hens Say
Wicked hen parties we have taught across Blackpool.
"The routine flipping between Glinda sass and the Defying Gravity belt was genius — everyone found their side of it. The arms-raised finale with the bride rising out of the middle is a stunning photo."
— Elodie Charnock ★★★★★"She came to our apartment near the North Shore and had a very shy group belting out the finale by the end. We trammed down to the seafront afterwards still doing the hair tosses. Magic."
— Bronte Hartley ★★★★★"I cannot hold a tune and it did not matter one bit — it is all shapes and drama, not singing. The bride got her big Elphaba moment and the rest of us framed her. So satisfying to perform."
— Nadia Foulkes ★★★★★"Booked it as the surprise and it stole the whole weekend. We even caught a bit of green in the Illuminations on the way back and lost it completely. Best hen decision we made."
— Kim Sagar ★★★★★Wicked Hen Party FAQ
Everything you need to know about our Wicked hen party dance class in Blackpool.
Which Wicked songs will we dance to in Blackpool? +
The big two lead — Defying Gravity for the soaring finale and Popular for the sass — with a taste of What Is This Feeling in between, and the ending is shaped around your group. If the bride wants the Elphaba belt moment, tell us on the enquiry form and it is hers.
Do we all have to be able to sing or dance? +
Not at all — this is a dance class, not an audition, and it is built on big readable shapes rather than tricky footwork. Everything is broken down slowly, and the showstopper moment only goes to someone who actively wants it.
How much does a Wicked hen party in Blackpool cost? +
One flat fee for the whole group — £140 for an hour, £165 for ninety minutes — with studio hire the only possible extra and an optional £10 bottle of bubbly. Five hens or twenty-five, the price holds, so there is no per-head sum to work out.
Is the class linked to a Blackpool production of Wicked? +
No — Wicked tours the country and has played the town's theatres on the road, so the songs are well known here, but we are an independent dance company with no affiliation to any venue or production. We simply borrow the show's drama for your private class.
Where does it run, and can you come to us? +
We use a central Blackpool studio near the Tower and Winter Gardens, a short walk or Promenade tram ride from the seafront hotels, or the whole class travels to you. It packs down to a speaker and comes to a hotel, a hall or a rented flat across Blackpool and the Fylde coast.
What should we wear? +
Whatever you are comfortable moving in — we never supply costumes. A touch of emerald green for the group or pink for the bride is a lovely nod, but flats or trainers you can move and pose in are the only real must.
