About This Strictly Hen Party Dance Class in Blackpool
There is one town in Britain where a Strictly hen party belongs, and you are standing in it. Blackpool is the actual ballroom capital: the Blackpool Dance Festival has crowned the world's dancers at the Empress Ballroom in the Winter Gardens since 1920, the oldest and most prestigious international ballroom competition anywhere, and the Tower Ballroom's famous sprung floor has drawn the country's finest since Frank Matcham built it in 1899. A Strictly hen party Blackpool leans into all of that heritage — the glitz, the sequins, the scored-round drama — and hands it to your group as pure fun.
We come to your base and run a scored, multi-dance party format inspired by the show's Blackpool visits. Everyone learns snippets of a few styles — a swishy waltz, a sassy cha-cha, a dramatic paso — then dances them off for our own light-hearted score paddles, ending on a group '10' finale. A Strictly hen do Blackpool is about the theatre of it: the reveal, the routine, the cheer. It is beginner-friendly from the first count, with the instructor breaking every move down and pitching the whole thing at laughing, not competing.
To be clear, we are an independent hen-party dance service: this is a Strictly-inspired experience with no affiliation to, endorsement from or connection with the BBC, the Strictly Come Dancing programme, its judges, or the Blackpool Tower and its ballroom — we simply celebrate the city's real dance heritage. We travel across the Fylde coast, from Promenade hotels a tram stop from the Tower to houses in Bispham or Lytham St Annes. Pricing is flat: £140 for the hour, £165 for ninety minutes, instructor only, plus venue hire if needed and an optional £10 bottle of fizz for the bride.

What Our Hens Say
Strictly hen parties we have taught across Blackpool.
"If you're doing a Strictly hen there is only one place — Blackpool, obviously. Came to our Prom hotel, taught us bits of three dances, then the paddles came out and it descended into brilliant chaos. The bride got her '10' and cried."
— Ottilie Prescott ★★★★★"Loved that they leaned into Blackpool being the actual home of ballroom without pretending to be the telly show. Waltz, cha-cha, a dramatic paso and a scored finale. Sequins everywhere. Best afternoon of the weekend."
— Manda Bickerstaffe ★★★★★"Total beginners, every one of us, and we still felt glamorous doing it. The scoring bit is pure theatre — paddles up, everyone screaming. Came out to our place near Lytham no bother. Ten out of ten from us."
— Serena Duckworth ★★★★★"Glitz, a giggle and a '10' to finish. They were clear it's inspired-by, not the BBC, which we appreciated. An hour, fizz for the bride, then a tram to the Tower for photos. Perfect Blackpool hen."
— Tammy Halliwell ★★★★★Strictly Hen Party FAQ
Everything you need to know about our Strictly hen party dance class in Blackpool.
Are you connected to the BBC show or the Tower Ballroom? +
No — and we are always upfront about that. We are an independent hen-party dance service running a Strictly-inspired experience. There is no affiliation with, endorsement from or connection to the BBC, the Strictly Come Dancing programme, its judges, or the Blackpool Tower and its ballroom. We simply draw on Blackpool's genuine status as the home of ballroom dancing.
What makes Blackpool the right place for this theme? +
Blackpool is the real ballroom capital. The Blackpool Dance Festival has been the world's leading international ballroom competition since 1920, held at the Empress Ballroom in the Winter Gardens, and the Tower Ballroom's sprung floor is world-famous. Doing a Strictly-style hen here means doing it in the town that ballroom dancing actually calls home — no other city can say that.
Do you come to our accommodation? +
Yes, anywhere on the Fylde coast — a Promenade hotel a tram stop from the Tower, a town-centre apartment, or a house in Bispham, Poulton-le-Fylde or Lytham St Annes. We need a cleared floor roughly lounge-sized and a socket for the music. The scored paddles and the sequinned drama come with us.
We're all beginners — can we really do ballroom? +
Easily — we teach snippets, not full competitive routines. Everyone learns a few signature moves from a waltz, a cha-cha and a paso, enough to dance them off for the score paddles and laugh. The instructor breaks each one down slowly, and the whole format is pitched at fun rather than technique. No experience needed.
How does the scoring work? +
It is our own light-hearted version — think foam paddles and cheering, not stern judges. The group splits or takes turns performing the styles they have learned, we hold up scores for a laugh, and everyone ends on a group '10' finale together. It is the theatre and the reveal that people love, and nobody actually loses.
What does it cost and how many can take part? +
A flat rate of £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes, for any group of five to thirty. That covers the instructor, the choreography, the music edit and photo time. Venue hire is extra only if your room is too small, and a bottle of fizz for the bride is an optional £10.
