About This Salsa Hen Party Dance Class in Preston

Preston is not a city that has to be talked into partner dancing. Reeders Dance out on Holme Slack Lane has kept salsa and ballroom evenings running for years, so the appetite is already here — we are simply the private, hen-only version of it. We are an independent hen-party company and have no tie to Reeders or anyone else; what we do is send one professional Latin instructor to whatever space your group has booked, whether that is a Fishergate studio or the function room of your weekend Airbnb.

Everything is taught as a group, so nobody gets pulled aside as a partner and nobody hovers at the edge feeling spare. Your instructor starts with the travelling side-step, feeds in an under-arm turn, a rolling shoulder shimmy and a synced group spin, then stitches the parts together one eight-count at a time. The timing is drilled until it lands for the whole room — by the middle of the session the friend who swore she had no rhythm is usually the one calling the next move.

When the class wraps you have a filmed routine and somewhere obvious to take it: the Church Street and Fishergate bars are a short walk on, Winckley Square if you want somewhere prettier, or a table booked at the Adelphi on Fylde Street. One price covers the lot — £140 for a full hour of it, or £165 if you stretch to ninety minutes — and it stays put whether ten or twenty-two of you show up. A chilled glass of fizz on arrival is the only add-on, at a flat £10.

What Our Hens Say

Salsa hen parties we have taught across Preston.

"None of us had tried salsa and by the end fourteen of us landed the same spin together. The instructor turned our Airbnb living room into a proper Latin party and made the nervous ones the stars of it."

— Kirsty Collings ★★★★★
Salsa

"Booked it as a surprise before our night on Fishergate. My mum, who does not dance, was showing off her under-arm turn in the bar afterwards. Best hour of the whole Preston weekend by a mile."

— Bethany Rawcliffe ★★★★★

"One flat price even though two extra cousins arrived on the day, and the instructor never once made anyone feel rushed. We did the class then walked round to Winckley Square still practising the shimmy."

— Danielle Winnard ★★★★★

"Twelve of us, ages 24 to 61, and nobody had a clue at the start. Ninety minutes later we filmed a full routine that actually looked like salsa. Genuinely the thing the whole group still messages about."

— Roisin Halsall ★★★★★

Salsa Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Salsa hen party dance class in Preston.

Does anyone in the group need a partner or salsa experience? +

No on both counts. The class runs as one big group routine, so there is no couples-hold and nobody gets paired off. Every step, from the travelling basic to the spins, is taught from a standing start, and the instructor keeps the tempo where the least confident hen is comfortable. It is complete beginners we build these sessions around.

Is there anywhere in Preston to carry on with salsa afterwards? +

There is — Preston has a longstanding partner-dance habit, with Reeders Dance on Holme Slack Lane among the places running salsa and ballroom evenings. We are happy to point you that way, but we would ask you to look up their current listings yourself, since we are an independent hen provider with no affiliation to them.

What does it cost and does the price move with numbers? +

The whole party pays one figure, not a per-head charge — £140 buys the hour, £165 buys ninety minutes. If a couple of extra hens turn up on the morning, the total does not budge. The one optional extra is a glass of bubbly on arrival at a flat £10, and you get everything confirmed in writing first.

Can you come to our venue in Preston? +

Yes, that is our usual way of working. We bring the class to a hotel function room, a hired Fishergate studio or any space with a bit of clear floor, right across Preston and the surrounding Lancashire towns. Send the postcode when you enquire and we will confirm it works before you book.

How big can the hen group be? +

Anywhere from a handful of five up to thirty or more. Salsa taught as a group routine actually gets better with numbers. For larger parties we will talk through the floor space you need, and can bring a second instructor so everyone still gets attention. A rough headcount at enquiry stage is all we need.

What should everyone wear? +

Whatever you can move freely in. Flat shoes or trainers are safest, though a smooth sole helps the spins along — thick grippy soles can catch. Heels are fine if you dance well in them, and some groups go full Latin with a ruffled skirt for the bride. Comfort wins over the look every time.
