Barbie Hen Party

Pink dress code strongly encouraged. Your choreographer builds a Barbie routine from the film's soundtrack and beyond — one flat rate from £140, whatever size the group.

How Your Barbie Party Runs

Arrival in Pink

Your choreographer meets a sea of pink at your studio or accommodation, runs a quick warm-up, and finds out which songs the bride wants in her routine.

Learning the Routine

Disco struts, group poses and a Ken interlude if anyone volunteers — all taught in short, repeatable sections that total beginners pick up fast.

The Filmed Finale

One full performance, filmed against the pinkest backdrop your venue can offer. Most groups watch it back before the taxis arrive.

Why a Barbie Hen Party?

Barbie is the hen party theme that organises itself. The dress code is one word, the group photos are guaranteed, and the soundtrack runs from Aqua's 1997 cheese to Dua Lipa's disco — so every age at the party gets a moment. All that is left to sort is the routine, and that is exactly where we come in.

Your choreographer builds the routine around Dance the Night's mirror-ball disco, with a nineties Barbie Girl throwback and — if anyone is willing — an I'm Just Ken theatrical interlude that steals every filmed finale. Sections are short and repeatable for total beginners, heels are optional, and pink is compulsory only by group consensus.

The 2023 film is practically a British export: Barbie Land was built at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire, and Dua Lipa led the soundtrack. It became the biggest film of 2023 and the highest-grossing movie ever from a solo female director — which is why the pink dress code shows no sign of retiring from UK hen weekends.

The only hen party theme with a built-in dress code the whole group already owns.

Dance the Night

Dua Lipa's mirror-ball centrepiece from the 2023 film — the natural backbone of the routine.

Barbie Girl

Aqua's 1997 UK number one for the nostalgia hit — pure nineties cheese, gleefully embraced.

I'm Just Ken

The power-ballad set-piece for any honorary Kens in the group — big, theatrical and very silly.

Barbie World

The Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice reworking, for a section with proper modern swagger.

Speed Drive

Charli XCX's high-speed soundtrack cut for the routine's most energetic burst.

Pink

Lizzo's opening-scene soundtrack moment — ideal for a playful, posed introduction section.

Barbie Facts Worth Repeating

Made in Hertfordshire

The 2023 Barbie film was shot mainly at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden — Barbie Land was built around twenty miles from central London.

A Billion-Dollar First

Barbie took more than 1.4 billion dollars worldwide — the biggest film of 2023 and the highest-grossing film ever from a solo female director.

The Great Pink Shortage

The production used so much pink that paint-maker Rosco said the film contributed to a worldwide shortage of its fluorescent pink.

Chart History, Twice

Aqua's Barbie Girl topped the UK singles chart in 1997 — and Ryan Gosling performed I'm Just Ken live at the 2024 Oscars.

Barbie Questions, Answered

How much does a Barbie hen party dance class cost?

One flat rate: from £140 plus venue hire for a one-hour class, or £165 plus venue for ninety minutes — the same price whether eight hens come or twenty-eight. No deposits lost when plans change.

Is there a dress code, and do you supply costumes?

Pink, obviously — but it comes from your own wardrobes. We do not supply costumes or props; groups bring their own outfits, from full Barbiecore to a single pink accessory for the reluctant. Ken outfits are welcome too.

What if we have never danced before?

Perfect — most of our groups have not. The routine is taught in short, repeatable sections at a pace set by the room, so complete beginners keep up while the group's resident show-off adds flourishes.

Can you run the class where we are staying?

Yes. In all 67 cities your choreographer can come to your hotel, Airbnb or a hired hall, or you can use one of our partner studios. A living room with the furniture pushed back works surprisingly well as a Dreamhouse.
