How Your Wicked Party Runs

Arrive in Oz

Your choreographer meets you at your venue or a partner studio, soundtrack ready. A warm-up, a quick lesson in dramatic musical-theatre posture, and the group splits into Elphabas and Galindas.

Learn the routine

Built from the show's biggest numbers and taught in short sections — from Popular's playful hair-flicks to the arms-out drama of Defying Gravity. The bride picks her witch.

The filmed finale

One full run, filmed, finishing on the gravity-defying final pose. Straight to the group chat — and frequently resurrected on the wedding dance floor.

Why Wicked for a Hen Party?

Wicked is the theme for brides who want their hen party with a side of theatre-kid drama. It's a story about female friendship — two witches who change each other for good — which is roughly the plot of every good hen weekend. The songs everyone knows, the poses are iconic, and the green-and-pink dress code organises itself.

The routine plays both witches. Galinda's numbers bring the comedy — preening, hair-tosses and Popular's bubblegum bounce — while Elphaba's bring the power ballads and the big, cape-swirling shapes. Your choreographer blends the two on the day so the routine swings from silly to spine-tingling, and absolutely no dance experience is needed for either half.

Wicked has been a London fixture since 2006, playing the Apollo Victoria for nearly two decades, and the 2024 film with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande turned a theatre phenomenon into a national one. With the sequel now out too, there has never been a better-timed moment to send a hen party to the Emerald City.

Part bubblegum, part power ballad — a routine for both witches in the group.

Defying Gravity

The act-one closer and the finale of most routines — big shapes, bigger final pose.

Popular

Galinda's makeover number — the comedy heart of the routine and a gift for the group's biggest ham.

Dancing Through Life

The show's actual dance number — swirling party-scene choreography made for a group.

One Short Day

The Emerald City arrival — bright, fast ensemble work with everyone on stage at once.

What Is This Feeling?

The loathing duet — perfect for the bride and her oldest friend to overact at each other.

The Wizard and I

Elphaba's ambition anthem — the dramatic solo section for whoever holds a pose the longest.

Wicked Facts Worth Repeating

A West End fixture since 2006

Wicked opened at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre in September 2006 and has played there ever since.

It started as a novel

The musical is based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel reimagining the Wicked Witch of the West, with songs by Stephen Schwartz.

A record-breaking film

The 2024 film, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, became the highest-grossing musical film adaptation of a stage show.

The story continued

The sequel, Wicked: For Good, arrived in cinemas in November 2025 — barely a year after part one.

Wicked Questions, Answered

How much does a Wicked hen party dance class cost?

One flat rate for the whole coven: from £140 plus venue for a one-hour class, or £165 plus venue for ninety minutes. Any group size, same price — no per-person maths, no lost deposits when plans shift.

Can the choreographer come to where we're staying?

Yes — in all 67 cities we cover, the class can run at your hotel, Airbnb or a hired hall, or at one of our partner studios. You need a clear floor, a speaker and a tolerance for dramatics.

Do we need to be good dancers?

Not remotely. Wicked choreography leans on posture, poses and big arm shapes rather than fancy footwork, so complete beginners look impressively theatrical fast. The final pose does most of the work.

Should we bring witch costumes?

We don't supply props or costumes, so bring your own — green for team Elphaba, pink for team Galinda, plus witch hats, capes and a wand or two. Green face paint is bold but legendary in the photos.
